Monitoring LineManufacturer: What is the monitoring cable?
Monitoring cable is a general term for various wires that transmit electrical or optical signals. Monitoring cables are usually a type of bundled wire, consisting of multiple copper and steel wires twisted into a conductive core and wrapped in insulating material. It has tensile and wear resistance, and is easy to retract and reuse. The main types include video cables, RF cables, shielded and unshielded cables, signal cables, control cables, etc., as well as various models.
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Key points for wiring design and construction of security monitoring systems
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Cable selection
The wiring design of the television monitoring system involves video monitoring circuits, broadcast intercom circuits, alarm circuits, voice monitoring circuits, and network circuits. They have different functions, and the cable models are also different.
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Camera video signal transmission cable
The commonly used video transmission cable is the 75Ω series thin coaxial cable, but coaxial cables of different diameters have varying levels of attenuation for video signals. The thicker the cable, the lower the attenuation.
The larger the cable diameter, the smaller the attenuation, making it more suitable for long-distance transmission.
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Camera power cable
In the television monitoring system, the power cable is wired separately, with a main switch set in the monitoring room, directly controlling the entire monitoring system through a UPS power supply. Generally, the power cable is wired according to AC 220V, and then converted to DC 12V at the camera end through an adapter. However, some cameras use 5V, 12V, or 24V DC, so the power supply methods differ.
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Cables for camera equipment with electric pan-tilt and electric lens
For camera equipment with electric pan-tilt and electric lens, in addition to the aforementioned video signal cables, the transmission cable between the on-site decoder and the control center should also be considered. Generally, 2-core shielded communication cables (RVVP) or Category 3 twisted pairs are used, with a UTP core cross-sectional area of 0.3㎡ ~ 0.5㎡.
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Alarm and sound monitoring cables
The alarm and monitoring cables for warehouse monitoring and corridors generally use 4-core shielded communication cables (RVVP) or Category 3 twisted pair UTP, with a cross-sectional area of 0.5m㎡ for each core.
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Broadcast and internal communication cables
When setting up broadcasts in warehouses, corridors, and factory areas, the basic principle of the cable is: the longer the distance, the thicker the cable. The basic communication distance specified by RS-485 communication is 1200 meters. In practice, this project uses RVV-2/1.5 sheathed wire, which can extend the communication distance to 2000 meters. Depending on the length of the broadcast and intercom distances, different cables and twisted pairs can be selected.
Monitoring LineManufacturer: Computer network cables
Computer network cables are categorized into two types. Optical cables are selected for vertical trunk lines between buildings, while 4 pairs of 8-core shielded Category 5e cables are used for horizontal trunk lines. Based on the actual conditions of the prison project, advanced 50μm/125μm optical cables from Changfei Optical Fiber Cable Co., Ltd. are used between buildings.
Multi-fiber optical cables are used to connect sub-monitoring to sub-monitoring centers, while single-fiber optical cables are used from sub-monitoring centers to the main monitoring center. From the work area to the management room, 4 pairs/8-core shielded twisted pairs are used.
